Re: xr1212 with 2x SP2 speakers
It's not too weak, it's just does not furnish the maximum power that your speakers could stand. The newest version of the SP2 is rated at 1000 watts program and, ideally, an amp output of 800 watts rms @ 8 ohms would be the perfect fit. The XR1212 is rated at 300 watts rms output @ 8 ohms when both channels are driven. However, you might find that 300 watts per SP2 will put out a lot of sound, according to where you are using it. In open air outside, it would not be very loud, but in a school auditorium it would be loud and then some. You can't really harm your speakers by using an amp that does not provide all the power they can handle. With DDT, the XR1212 will keep you in check.
