XR800F mixer amp output fading

Post by Elsie » Mon Feb 10, 2020 9:11 am

Hi all, I have an old XR800F mixer amp. Just recently the output fades. I have just replaced main faders but still have problems. The main faders have no volume until at about 90-100 %. Input gains need to be high also. Any thoughts?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I suspect that the problem is not with the faders. It's likely some failing part of the circuitry. Call Peavey technicians at their repair center in Meridian. They can give you guidance and provide parts you need. The toll-free phone number is 877-732-8391.
You can email them at [email protected].

There used to be a circuit that was used to mute turn on/off transients...in some of our older products this circuit used some high impedance parts that are subject to being affected by humidity.

I don't have a schematic handy or I'd point you in the right direction...or at least where I'd start.
