Daisy chaining powered mixers?

Post by GaryMadore » Sat Feb 25, 2017 8:27 am

Heya!

I've seen a lot of info on daisy chaining speakers on a single powered mixer, but not a lot (anything, really) on connecting 2 powered mixers together. Probably because it's a dumb idea ;)

Anyway, I've got an XR560 for hobby use and have an opportunity to snag another XR560 for a pretty low price.

While it would be easy to just run both systems independently, that would entail buying more speakers. So, yeah, I could use one head to mic the kid's drums and the other for everything else but having to buy more PA boxes kinda makes it a bad idea.

So I was wondering if it's possible (and, of course, advisable) to run a line out (Monitor out?) from one unit into a line in (Aux in?) in the other unit..

This way I could double the number of available inputs while not having to drop a big wad o' cash on extra columns.

So, is this the dumbest question ever asked?

Here's a picture to serve as a distraction from the stoopit question ;)

Well, dang: That was easy.

Thanks, man. I'll give it a go.
