Hi
I am new to this forum. I work as a part time repair and service technician locally, repairing mostly hifi equipment. I joined this forum because I need some technical assistance in troubleshooting my mixer problem. Both the L and R Master outputs are Fine, but the L Monitor output sounds very much softer than the R Monitor output on all channels. I have checked all the diodes and resistors on that channel output board and they are fine. Can the normal caps, fader or lastly the op amp ICs be the problem. Please assist.
Thanks
Carlos

You wrote "L Monitor output" and "R Monitor output" but are you referring to the "Monitor 1" and "Monitor 2" output jacks?

Re: Peavey RQ2318 Mixer
Yes, I am referring to the L and R monitor XLR output connectors. I opened up the mixer and there is one opamp (4650) connected to each output connector and one opamp(2068) connected to each fader. I interchanged both the ICs from Monitor 1 to Monitor 2 and vice versa , but Monitor 1 still sounds softer than Monitor 2. Can it be the fader problem.
Thanks

Re: Peavey RQ2318 Mixer
I don't know the answer to your problem, but I am interested to see what it turns out to be. Our church used to have a Peavey RQ2318 mixer before we went digital, and it was my favorite Peavey mixer of all time. I will keep checking your post to see if one of the pros will chime in. I learn a lot by reading these posts each week. Good luck.
