PV6USB stopped working
PV6USB stopped working
I was setting up for a gig and accidently plugged in my 9 volt guitar pedal supply, an Ispot, and the green lights light up. So I switch to my 15V OEM supply and the unit will not power up! HELP! I a reset something, replace something or send it somewhere?

Re: PV6USB stopped working
Sorry, but you toasted it. If I recall correctly, the factory adapter is AC power and you plugged in your pedals DC adapter. Not good.
You can send it in for repair. The guys at Peavey work pretty cheap, but this is a pretty inexpensive unit so you might want to consider just getting the new model as the freight and repair labor might equal the replacement cost.

Re: PV6USB stopped working
Just to clarify, your PV6USB mixer takes a +15V DC power supply.
Plugging a +9V DC supply in, probably wouldn't hurt, but if I remember right those types of supplies are negative on the tip. Most everything in the world is tip positive. That means you connected a -9VDC supply to something that wants a +15VDC supply.

I should clarify that the OEM 15V power supply works, I checked it out with a meter. But still, the PV6 will not turn on with the 15v supply plugged in. When I plug in a 9v supply two green lights illuminate but the PV6 is not operational. I really liked this mixer! Please help me resolve the issue!
Re: PV6USB stopped working
Thank you for the replies in the posts, I will double check the -voltage. Perhaps I should just buy a new mixer. Does anyone make a mixer that just has an ordinary AC plug? These companies all make the power supplies with the same plug and it is easy to mix them up. two years ago I plugged a seymour duncan pedal supply into a zoom recorder . . . that was a nice plume of $300 smoke!
