I just purchased my second RAB-1 microphone. A nice sounding microphone and a nice wood case with foam liner. However, the wood case has come broken both times. The case was manufactured with only glued corners. There are no staples or brads in the case to hold the corners together.
I have been able to glue the cases back together. I think Peavey needs to re-evaluate the supplier of the cases.

Re: RAB-1 Case
FOe what it is worth, I just recently purchased two RAC-1 microphones. Same wood case. Both were in excellent condition. Quite possible I had two bad shipping events.
Also, this should show my confidence in this series of ribbon microphone...now I have four in my mic locker.
