Hi,

I'm a performer and audio neophyte. I've recently purchased the PVi portable powered audio system, and discovered that the condenser mic I have won't work with it because the system doesn't have phantom power. Two questions: What wireless headset/lavalier system do you recommend that will work with my PA? Also, is there anything I can plug my audio-technica (AT831R) miniature cardioid remote-powered condenser mic into to make it work with this system? The mic has a TA3F output connector and phantom power requirements of "9-5w2V DC, 2mA typical," so I'm guessing the 9V batteries typically found in the transmitter packs of the wireless systems I've encountered won't suffice.

You can use about any manufacturers wireless system with your PVi portable if they have a 1/4" or XLR output. One note about wireless: Don't go cheap. I've never met a cheap one that lasts and sounds good. Expect to pay $300.00 and up for anything remotely decent.

You can add an outboard phantom power supply. These little boxes have their own power adapter or are powered by a pair of 9v batteries. The get plugged in using XLR cables between the mixer and the microphone. Here's an example: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Nady-SMPS-1 ... 6499340282

It costs decent money to get rid of that cable and to do so reliably and clearly.

IF you look on Amazon you can find cheaper decent mic.

Which one did you find on Amazon?
