Peavey Vypyr 15 Preset Foot-Switch WORKS!

Post by djcdude95 » Sat Jun 18, 2011 11:12 pm

After seeing a few videos and some posts on the forums, i decided to make my very own footswitch for my Vypyr 15. I know Sanpera isn't compatible, and i wasnt going to spend money on a midi adapter for the circuit board. So i made a box with 5 switches, 1 to each preset (4), and 1 to the bank switch, and wired them to the circuit board directly onto the original switch contacts. Pretty sweet if you ask me. And it works perfectly.

what do you all think about it?

Ill post more pics and give more detailed instructions if y'all want. :D

I really hated this idea at first, but after thinking about it, I not only like the idea, but I especially like the "post-industrial" look of the pedal. Crazy cool.

it cost me $4 in switches, it can vary depending what kind of switch you get, but you need 5 momentary "normally open" switches. i made the box out of some thin plywood kinda material, and duct tape, with corner brackets to sturdy it up. i used a 24 foot telephone cable cut into 4 pieces (6ft each), telephone cables have 2 wires in the main cable, so each of the preset buttons have one section of the tele cable. for the bank switch i used some normal wire i had. originally the total length was ~6ft so i found an old game controller cable (~6ft) that had 11 wires in it(1 wasnt used) to extend the length of the wire. sorry for the confusing directions, ill make a pdf on how to do this that will be simple to read.
