New Vypyr Tube 60 - Value?

I'm thinking of picking up a Vypyr Tube 60 as I sold mine last year and am now regretting it as I really liked it. A local store actually has 2 NOS units but is looking to get $420 which is pretty close to what I paid for mine new back in 2010. I understand that as a dealer they want to get as much out of a unit as possible due to carrying costs, etc., but for an amp that is 7 years old and discontinued, I'm looking for opinions on what a fair price would be. I know some will say "it's worth what you're willing to pay for it" but that's not really an answer

I'm not trying to steal this thing just looking to ensure I don't get taken to the cleaners given the age and status of the line.

Yep - checking all over actually. That's why I'm wondering about the true value of a brand new old stock one.

You already answered your own question. It's new from a dealer, with warranty I would suppose.
Used is used, new is new. If I wanted one, I'd personally go the $410, but I'd certainly offer less to start with.

What other new amp can you get that does what a Tube 60 Vypyr does? NONE.
What other amp can you get new for $400 that will sound better? NONE!
Get what you want. Screw saving $50- $100 and getting something lesser, which is almost anything else.

Well said... definitely something for me to think about... one of my hesitations on buying used is not knowing what types of repairs or mods someone has done. Something I need to get over I think... lol.
