Vypyr Pro 100 vs Vypyr Tube?

Post by whipman » Sun Aug 06, 2017 12:18 am

I've always leaned more towards tube amps but recently bought a Vypyr Pro 100 and I'm liking it. I have an itch for one of the Vypyr Tube amps from a while back. Seeing as I already have the Pro 100 would I be throwing my money away on a Vypyr Tube?

I haven't tried the Pro 100 or any of the new Vypyrs. I do have a Tube 60 though and it's pretty awesome. The 6506 and Dzl were my favs in there (I haven't used it in a while). I also liked the JSX and some of the clean tones. Actually, I at least liked the majority of amp tones in that amp. I didn't love the Plexi tone but it was okay. The main drawback for me was the lack of an FX loop--I like stacking delays and can't do it on that amp. I also wasn't a huge fan of the look. I currently have it listed for sale locally, but I don't really care if it doesn't sell. It's a fun amp.
Amps:
- Fractal FM9 Turbo
- Vypyr 60
- EVH 50w (Stealth and 6L6 2x12 combo)

Guitars:
- Too many
