Vypyr 30 vs Vypyr Vip 2
I am looking at getting a Vypyr 30 for $100 Canadian or a Vip2 for $150 Canadian. I already have a pod hd500x for usb and recording so I don't care about the usb functions of the Vypyr Vip 2. I just want to go know which amp is better in terms of reliability and sound quality.

Re: Vypyr 30 vs Vypyr Vip 2
I have both amps. I use the 30 at band practice and keep the vip2 at home b/c I also use it for a bass amp. No doubt the 2 is more flexible but I seem to get a preferable distortion out of the 30. Also, I have a vypyr 75 for live shows so I use some of the same custom presets as I do with the practice amp. I've had both amps for at least 4 years and use them several times a week with no problems whatsoever.

Thank you so much. I already told someone I coming to buy the Vip 2. Is the distortion a lot better on the 30?

i also prefer the tones of my 30 over my VIP2.
high gain, anyway - i don't play much clean stuff, so can't comment on that.

VYPYR 30 a lot better? I would not say a lot. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the VIPII. Its just different than the 30. Also, I find that in either case, the amps react significantly different with my various guitars. This is where the programmable presets really shine as I set up banks for my strat and LP to maximum effect.

Re: Vypyr 30 vs Vypyr Vip 2
I got the Vip 2 and I love the tones I can get out of it but I feel the effects (mainly use chorus) are too strong even at the lowest settings. Does the The 30 have the same issue?

haven't played the 30 for a while, but that is my main gripe with the Vypyr Pro. i like some subtle chorus or phase sometimes, and its impossible.LordImperious wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2017 8:26 pmI got the Vip 2 and I love the tones I can get out of it but I feel the effects (mainly use chorus) are too strong even at the lowest settings. a cheap used multi-effects unit solves that.

I still have yet to use my pod hd500X with the vip 2. I wonder how they work together.
