Greetings all,
I have just recently purchased the Peavey Vypyr 120 watt tube modeling amp, was playing thru it for about 45min when I heard a slight pop and now I have no sound coming thru the amp. I have checked all connections/cable (Good) and the fuse and settings and they are the same, amp still power ups and everything, but just no sound will come thru, any solid advice will be great and well appreciated, thank you in advance.

Just speculating but possibly the headphones jack has gone bad. The series one sometimes would go bad and need repair. If you plug in headphones, can you hear the amp as it should sound thru the phones? If so, the pre amp section is still functioning. Check that jack out. Beyond that, I have no other ideas. Hope you get it working. You'll love it.

In this nicely designed amp, there are a few internal fuses. Focusing on the B+/Screen DC supply for the 4-6L6 output tubes, that would be F3.
So F3 could of "popped" as a precurser to an output tube failure. To get to F3 you have to take it apart. Be careful.

Did you find the problem? I also have no output to the speakers. I just took the head out of the cabinet and the F3 fuse (closest to the power connector) is blown. The headphone jack is working for most of the presets. I did notice that some of the presets on mine have no output so that may be another issue.

I was able to get the F3 fuse out. It is definitely fried. 350V 1.5A Cartridge fuse. I do not have any that size here. Seller on Amazon has some but will take two weeks to get here. 5 in a pack. I ordered 2 packs. Hope that is all. Wish I knew why it blew.

For anyone that may read this in the future. I got the fuses in today. Just as rogue777 said above that was the problem. Seems as though one of the main tubes (first one next to the 12AT7) was bad and had caused the fuse to pop. Changed the tube and the fuse. Amp is now back to the good sound.

bwQuestion, you did a great job figuring out which tube was bad! however you did it. Hopefully its only one bad tube. Glad you fixed it.
Although there could be other causes to blow F3, I think we can agree the Tubes would be the first to check.
