VSX Software

Post by simplicity » Thu Jan 17, 2013 12:03 pm

I know it's never been realeased and therefore not supported but, does anybody have a copy of the VSX pc software they can send me? I'm learning my way around the VSX and would love to see if on my pc screen as I get familiar with it's features.

If you can I'd love to tinker with it this weekend. Thanks.

Let me know and I'll get you my email address.

G'day Allen,
The VSX Editor is certainly a handy tool to learn about the operation and setting up of your VSX.

You can make and save your own presets....but you cannot connect your PC to the VSX and change presets in real time.. you load your presets on a small usb drive and connect to the VSX.

PM me an email address and I'll send you a copy of the editor program.

Hi Brad, thanks for sending it but I can't open it thanks to microsoft.. Well it's not entirely all bad, I understand why they blocked it but jeesh....

Anyway, can you zip it up for me and re-send it in a zipped folder? That should let me open it up.

Thannks.

For those of you in receipt of the software - please understand the following:

THIS IS DISCONTINUED BETA SOFTWARE !

PEAVEY DOES NOT AND WILL NOT SUPPORT IT !

DO NOT CALL PEAVEY IF THE SOFTWARE BLOWS UP YOUR COMPUTER, YOUR VSX, YOUR PA SYSTEM, OR YOUR MEMSTICK !

IF YOU USE THE SOFTWARE TO CREATE AND LOAD PRESETS, MANUALLY CHECK THE PRESETS ONCE INSTALLED, PRIOR TO USE !

Having CLEARLY stated all that - the software is like "fire" - a great servant, but a lousy master.
Cheers,
Steve

You need to explore it from the front panel screen.

Read Semper Fi Steve's post ahead of yours. Trust me there is nothing to learn from that failed GUI.

Far be it from me to argue with Marty, but for the short time I had the GUI on my Windows machine before it died, I did find it to be a good learning tool. That's probably because I'm more of a visual learner and the graphics on the screen helped me to understand the slopes, crossover points, etc. That said, once I spent about 15 minutes messing with it I pretty much understood what was going on in the VSX and don't recall using it much at all after that. :D

Did it help me make my rig sound better and do I still use it? No. Not at all.

Don't believe me. I'm just guessing.

Bob,

It would take me toomuch time to tell all tlhat I can about the short comings of that GUI.

So lfor anyone interested in viewing a GUI that is most usefull for "learning the DSP technology, the forget about the VSX and download the GUI for either the previous Digitool MX OR the one for the current Digitool Live. These are most excellent.

Digitool MX: http://www.peaveycommercialaudio.com/pr ... igitool-MX

Digitool Live: http://www.peaveycommercialaudio.com/pr ... itool-LIVE

I like to 1st one as you can see the filters combined.

If after viewing these, If anyone has a question, then PM me. But not unless you viewed the info.

See attachments for general X-Over info, from basic to advanced, but don't skip the basic, start at the beginning.
