Is Revalver 4 worth the upgrade from III.V?

Post by STR1PES » Mon Feb 13, 2017 7:26 am

I have Revalver III.V
Is Revalver 4 worth the extra 50 bucks? I would probably never use the ACT feature. Is that really the only upgrade besides layout for 4?

Personally, I think it sounds better than 3.5. And don't count out the ACT feature too soon. You might become interested in it some day. I just tried it out for the first time myself and sampled an amp off the internet and I like what I heard so far.

IMHO, I would have paid even more for this upgrade !
The sounds are better (both the amps and effects, but mostly the cabs), the workflow is better, the ease of use,...

Even if you don't use the ACT stuff, there still is plenty more here:
- a nice tuner
- an input noise gate
- an output compressor and EQ (for easy sound-shaping)
- more amps (like the Engl Powerball, Peavey Masterpiece 50, Hangar18 bassamp,...)
- new Cabs with mic-placing and 'air'-shaping, while still able to use all the old cabs from version III.V (+ your own convulsion cabs)
- GIG-mode

Almost everything is better than version III.V !
The only downside is the fact that you need to keep your usb-stick plugged-in as a copy-protection.

Thank You for the replies. Looks like I may purchase Revalver 4 after all.
