Peavey Hisys 4xt internal crossover help please.

Post by Dthomsonr » Sat Dec 21, 2019 2:00 pm

Hi everyone.

Hoping someone can help.
I've acquired a pair of Hysis 4xt unloaded cabs, 2 x15 + 22xt with the crossovers intact but hacked.

I have tried to find the wiring schematic of the board to rewire to new drivers but no luck.

Im assuming the xt22 wires to the spaded black/red cable pair and the lowest 15" to the blue/yellow pair.

This is where i need help.

Im assuming the upper 15"/8 ohms runs parallel wired to the lower 15"/8 ohm giving 4 ohms but i have a random separate transformer/regulator that im thinking is the hi-pass 300hz that goes in line on the positive feed from the lower 15?

Is this correct?

The capacitor on the main board has also been bodged and is 47 microfarad which i think means x-over to xt22 is now 830Hz :0

Ive seen a burned board photo and it seems it should be 13 microfarad to give a 12db slope at 1200Hz.

Again would this be correct?

Would love to get these monsters pushing air again.
Loudest Punch and Judy show ever.

Thanks guys

Hi again peeps.

Thanks again to Paul for the schematic but having pulled my UK 4xt board out im now more confused.

My board seems to be a generic Hysis board as seen in the hysis 1 and 2 cabs and also matches a Worthpoint sales pic of a 4xt board as well so im thinking Peavey UK just used 1 " Hysis" board across the range in Europe matched to the xt22 horn.?

Puzzlingly i have a 3rd inductor, unattached, which was screwed to the backboard above the bottom BW 15".

I know the 2 x 8 ohm BW would be wired parraled to get the 4ohm load but where and what is this 3rd inductor.?

Im guessing in series?

Is it a 300Hz lo pass for the lower 15 but then the upper 15" is full range or is it the other way round?
A 300Hz hi pass for the upper 15"?

Any help, pics or schematics here would be appreciated audio chums.
