Hi All,
So a while ago I had the good fortune to acquire a sweet Peavey 212 basic for the princely sum of $0.00. That's right, it was free. I have since discovered that the amp seems to have an issue blowing fuses as soon as it powers on. Bummer. So, are there any basic troubleshooting steps I can take to rectify the situation? Please, keep in mind you are talking to a dude with very little experience with these sorts of things! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Probably have shorted output transistors.

Hey Enzo,
thanks for the reply. Any idea of how one would fix that?
Thanks!

I hesitate... This is kinda like telling your mom how to do a valve job on the oldsmobile. There is so much background to provide to have a basis for explaining the troubleshooting. Do you have a good meter and know how to use it? Your output transistors would be the largest ones in there, either two or four of them. And mounted on a heat sink - or big aluminum thing. Transistors have three terminals - or two plus the casing - and no two should be shorted together.
