Peavey Classic VTX Series Amp Help?

Post by AC/DCWyattAC/DC » Wed Feb 02, 2011 2:22 pm

We got a Peavey Classic VTX Series Amp from a family freind but it dosn't work and we want to fix it. Heres the problem, he lent it to his brother or something and he accidently left it on all night and now it dosn't work... it turns on but wont work. We cheched the tubes and they light up, and the speakers are fine, we think, but its amp thats not working..... Could it be the wires or something inside the amp, what could happen to an amp this size if left on overnight? And could this amp along with an Ibenez Floyd Rose and a Ds-1 effects pedal create a great AC/DC sound?

Agree....

More than one fuse on-board.

Check all or replace all as easy DIY Project.

Amp unplugged.....

Remove power chassis from cabinet to access circuit board.

Amp fuses on circuit board.

Numerous Peavey amps have 3 - 4 fuses on-board.

With old amp out of use for who knows how long......

Good idea to purchase and install new tubes as a "Tune Up".

Ok yeah im guna have to take the amp to a guitar center but i found out the tubes are ok cuz if they were dead the fuses would be blown and all the fuses are fine so theres something wrong with the amp..... probably something expensive.....

Find a local independent professional amp tech.

Guitar Center doesn't have techs on staff.

GC jobs out repairs.
