Its versatile feature set and user-friendly controls make it an ideal companion for both practice sessions and live performances, ensuring that you always have access to the best possible sound.

Featuring (2) EL84 power tubes and (3) 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes, the compact Classic 20 MH ensures that your unique sound reaches every corner of a room, providing the clarity and warmth that captivates and engages your audience.

Feature Rich

The compact 2-channel Classic 20 MH suits any playing style perfectly. Each channel shares EQ, an effects loop, and reverb, all accessible through the included footswitch. The amp's rear panel features Peavey’s unique Microphone Simulated Direct Interface (MSDI) with XLR and USB outputs, a 3-position power attenuator switch allowing for 20-watt, 5-watt, or 1-watt operation, and a speaker defeat switch. Send your sound directly to the front-of-house (FOH) or hit the speaker defeat switch and record silently into your DAW without waking the neighborhood.

Unlimited Sonic Potential

Instead of trying to re-create the character of a specific vintage amplifier, the Classic 20 MH is a harmonically rich foundation to shape your own signature sounds with genuine tube tenacity.

Genuine Tube Tone

Nothing beats the punch and impact of genuine tube tone. The Classic 20 MH packs three 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes and a pair of EL84 power tubes for muscular tone with distinctive harmonic richness.

Go Direct, No Mic Needed

You don’t need to mic up the Classic 20 MH to send great tone to a PA system or recording interface. The XLR and USB outputs feature microphone emulation so you can go direct without compromising your tone.

Built-in Power Attenuation

The Classic 20 MH is ready to adapt your headroom for practically any stage or studio application, with onboard power attenuation that lets you select from 20-watt, 5-watt, or even 1-watt operation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Classic 20 MH sound like the full-size amp, or does the mini size make it sound different?

Yes, the Classic 20 MH delivers the vibrant harmonic complexity players have loved about the Classic series since 1973.

With 20 watts of power, is the Classic 20 MH loud enough to play with a drummer?

The Classic 20 MH can compete with a drummer and other amps in small-format settings, depending on the sensitivity of your speaker cabinet. Playing with a louder drummer and along with other higher-wattage amp will require additional reinforcement..

How do the Classic 20 MH's lower wattage modes affect tone and volume?

Using the 5W and 1W modes will decrease your headroom, which means you can make the power tubes break up at slightly lower volumes. This allows you to achieve "cranked amp" tone, saturation and sustain at manageable volume levels.

Can I record silently with the Classic 20 MH's speaker defeat and direct output?

Yes. You can defeat the speaker output to use the direct output or USB for silent recording sessions.

How effective is the Microphone Simulated Direct Interface (MSDI) for sending signal direct to the PA or recording interface?

Extremely effective. MSDI eliminates the need for an external speaker cabinet and microphone, sending the sound of a miked 12-inch speaker direct to the sound system or interface.

What types of tubes does the Classic 20 MH use?

Three 12AX7 preamp tubes and two EL84 power tubes.

What is the Tube Status Indicator (T.S.I.) and how does it work?

T.S.I. helps you identify potentially troublesome tubes before they fail at a gig. T.S.I. will alert you when a tube is nearing potential failure, and will automatically shut the tube off to protect the amp if a failure does occur.
