Peavey Electronics Donates 26 Delta Woods™ Acoustic Guitars to Charitable Organizations

Peavey DW 2 Guitar

Peavey Electronics is pleased to announce the donation of 26 Delta Woods™ acoustic guitars to four organizations that provide music therapy to disabled veterans as well as to children and adults with special needs. Selectron Solutions, Peavey’s partner in customer product returns, rescued the instruments that were suitable for donation and helped to identify the organizations in need. Peavey’s Delta Woods guitars are excellent for beginner players and are made from high-quality materials that will enable participants at all skill levels to practice and perform for years to come.

One of the organizations receiving guitars is Mosaic Music Therapy - Neuro-Rehabilitation & Developmental Services. Founded in Sea Girt, N.J. in 2011, the organization provides in-house services, as well as services out in the community, including at the Children’s Specialized Hospital in nearby Toms River, N.J.

In a letter addressed to Peavey COO Courtland Gray, Mosaic Music Therapy Founder and Director Jonathan Scheick wrote, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you, Peavey, and Selectron Solutions for your incredible generosity in gifting the guitars…You have provided our therapy participants with the gift of music through the use of these beautiful, quality Peavey guitars. We will use them daily in our practice and look forward to providing guitars to participants who are unable to afford an instrument of their own. Your kindness enhances the quality of care that we can provide to our participants.”

A second organization receiving donations, Jammin’ Jenn Music Therapy, has been helping children with special needs since 2009. Also based in New Jersey, the practice has grown to help special needs adults and is looking to expand further into the tri-state area.

“Many of our clients are non-verbal on the autism spectrum, but there are a handful that are on a higher-functioning level who can and want to learn an instrument. We are so pleased to be able to offer this as a result of your donation,” wrote Jennifer Pacht-Goodman, owner and operator of Jammin’ Jenn.

Peavey’s Delta Woods guitars are designed to be the best-sounding, easiest-playing, full-size acoustic guitars the company has ever built. Capturing the essence of an American tradition, Delta Woods guitars have a gorgeous spruce top with mahogany back and sides, and a minimalistic satin finish for excellent tone and volume. Each model has a bound fingerboard and body along with a fanciful rosette, rosewood fretboard, and pearloid inlays for a premium look and feel. These guitars are great for strumming chords or for exercising modern fingerpicking techniques.

Thanks to this initiative and Selectron’s careful assessment, 26 fine instruments were salvaged and will support the work of these important community-based organizations.

“The missions of music therapy organizations like Mosaic and Jammin’ Jenny remind us that Peavey can make a positive impact on the lives of so many. Music can create a meaningful experience for those who play or for those who simply listen to it. It brings all who are involved in this project great joy to know that these Peavey Delta Woods guitars can change some lives for the better,” Gray said.

Peavey looks forward to continuing this donation program with Selectron’s assistance and enabling more charitable organizations to share the joy of music with participants.
