It's a re-creation of the original Peavey Decade combo: players describe it as "wiry" and "crunchy", with harmonically-rich midrange that naturally holds its place well in a band mix.

The Peavey Decade Too is equipped with an 8-inch Celestion speaker voiced to sound like the Rola speakers used in the original Decade, driven by a 10-watt (RMS) linear power amp.

No, the Peavey Decade Too will not be able to compete with a moderately loud drummer on its own. Connecting external speaker cabinets will increase your volume, but results will vary based on speaker sensitivity and configuration.

Extremely close, about as close as you can achieve without access to original components. Some improvements have been made, including the switchable Saturation circuit to achieve cranked-amp tones at lower volume levels for home practice and recording.

The Peavey Decade Too does not have a headphone output, but it does have both an XLR direct output and a 1/4-in. preamp output for recording and speaker emulators. You can connect up to two 8-ohm speaker cabinets to the Peavey Decade Too combo.

An 8-inch speaker will emphasize midrange frequencies, which is where the girth and grunt of your guitar tone resides. A 10-inch speaker would create more thump and punch in the lower midrange, and a 12-inch speaker would offer the most extended response with deeper bass.

It's true that the Peavey Decade played a key role in Homme's layered guitar tones for Queens of the Stone Age, adding its signature midrange bite to the wall of sound. The Decade combo was utilized in various sessions for Songs for the Deaf.
