International convention showcases Peavey artists, instruments & debut of Versarray line array DALLAS—Peavey has more in common with the International Dallas Guitar Festival than an intense passion for music and guitars. Both happened to make music history in 1978.While the inaugural Dallas guitar show got underway in a hotel basement in 1978, Peavey founder, visionary and famed innovator Hartley Peavey was busy introducing his revolutionary T-60 guitar to the music world. As the first guitar made using CNC-controlled machinery, the T-60 bridged the gap between the vintage and modern eras in guitars. Twenty-eight years later, the musical instrument and sound equipment giant's innovation has become an industry standard. And Peavey is set to debut its latest U.S.A. Custom Shop innovations at the famed guitar event April 21-23 at Dallas Market Hall. The International Dallas Guitar Festival also marks the world debut of the Peavey Versarray line array, the company's first line array loudspeaker system, at the Peavey Stage. Engineered on a 41-year foundation of audio technology, the Versarray brings astonishing clarity and unprecedented sonic accuracy to concert audiences large and small. The Peavey Stage also features a full Peavey backline of Penta, 6505, JSX and ValveKing guitar amplifiers and Pro bass amps, and hosts Peavey artists all weekend. Peavey endorsers Jerry Donahue, Deconstruct, Gary Hoey and F5—veteran metal bassist David Ellefson's new hard rock band—will appear on the Peavey stage and other stages all weekend. (See schedule below and at www.guitarshow.com.) Along with its U.S.A. Custom Shop musical instruments, Peavey will display signature model instruments such as the Omniac Jerry Donahue guitar, which features a five-way switching/two-pickup configuration, and the new Zodiac Scorpio David Ellefson bass, a rock-solid bass guitar combining both P- and J-style pickups.Friday, April 21
