Chickenfoot Debuts With Michael Anthony & Peavey Amps

Chickenfoot, the supergroup formed by bass legend Michael Anthony with Sammy Hagar, Joe Satrianiand Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith, relies on a Peavey backline for its self-titled debut album, released on June 5.

Bass kingpin and Rock Roll Hall of Famer Michael Anthony shelved his longtime amp rig after playing the new Peavey VB-3 all-tube bass head and matching VB-810 enclosure.

The dual-channel, 300-watt Peavey VB-3 bass amplifier combines three 12AX7 and two 12AT7 preamp tubes with a matched octet of EL34 tubes that give players tons of characteristic tube tone with uncharacteristically tight response for an all-tube amplifier. An innovative, world-compatible switch-mode power supply and advanced design provide stadium levels of tone and power in an extremely lightweight (37 lb.) tube amplifier head.
