Peavey Electronics levels up connectivity and convenience with the new PVXp™ Bluetooth® Powered Speaker Systems. Offering three model sizes, the PVXp 10, PVXp 12, and PVXp 15, these two-way sound reinforcement systems are designed with a heavy-duty woofer and a RX titanium diaphragm dynamic compression driver. Representing the third generation of one of the best-selling speaker enclosures in the industry, PVXp Bluetooth speakers combine high-quality sound and rugged durability with adaptability and lightweight design.
The PVXp 10, PVXp 12, and PVXp 15 offer 10-inch, 12-inch, and 15-inch heavy-duty woofers, respectively, and bi-amped power sections with peak dynamic power. Both the 12-inch and 15-inch models have a RX™ 14 compression driver with 1.4-inch titanium diaphragm at 980 W peak dynamic power. The 10-inch speaker has an RX™ 10 compression driver, with 1 inch titanium diaphragm at 520 W peak. Additionally, each woofer has a 2 3/8-inch voice coil diameter and 50-ounce magnet for chest-pounding bass. The power supply for both amps is a switch mode-type for low weight and high efficiency, and cooling is provided via a low-noise fan, for reliable operation under a variety of conditions.
Both amplifiers on each PVXp speaker feature sophisticated DSP-based signal compression, virtually eliminating audible power amplifier clipping. In fact, these PVXp speakers include Peavey’s most advanced digital signal processing to date, using high sample rates and quality AD (analog-to-digital) converters that provide a wide variety of EQ and presets. Peavey’s technology not only allows users to customize EQ settings and save presets, but allows them to optimize performance using tools such as loudness compensation, clarity, and volume.
Peavey’s proprietary horn designs are mathematically proven to create cleaner and clearer high-end by eliminating distortion commonly found in competitors’ designs. The RX 10 compression driver tweeter is coupled with a Quadratic Throat™ constant directivity waveguide (100 by 60 degree coverage for PVXp 10 and 100 by 50 degrees for PVXp 12 and PVXp 15). This original Peavey design offers smooth, even response, low distortion, and good high-frequency dispersion. At the same time, Peavey’s exclusive asymmetrical horn allows the audio to be aimed only where it’s needed (up 15 and down 35 degrees on the 12” and 15”; up 20 down 40 for the 10”) not where it’s not, which allows for louder perceived volume with reduced feedback and unwanted reflections.
Input for two of the three channels is via a combo female XLR and quarter-inch TRS phone jack with balanced input to the preamp/EQ electronics and level control. A third channel is for a Bluetooth source or alternatively a 1/8-inch AUX input jack. Peavey’s speakers combine the latest Bluetooth technology to allow both remote control via iOS app and Bluetooth audio streaming in, making it easy to control playback and adjust volume and EQ, all from an iOS device. A balanced output, a male XLR, can feed the mixed signals from the three channels out to another component, allowing for linking of additional speaker systems or a feed off the signal to a powered subwoofer.
On the outside, the PVXp Bluetooth speakers have a modern, sleek appearance thanks to their full-coverage, heavy-duty perforated steel grilles with powder coat finish. Additionally, the trapezoidal cabinet has two handles for ease of portability and an extra 45-degree angled section on the right side to allow for use as a floor monitor.
When it comes to set up, the PVXp Bluetooth speakers provide users plenty of options. The pole mount is molded in for standard 1 3/8-inch diameter poles, while 13 mounting fly points provide excellent versatility in permanent install use. Peavey prioritizes audience safety with its flying hardware. When installed properly with Peavey’s Versamount™ 70 brackets, the speakers can fly safely in both horizontal and vertical configurations. If the user chooses to take PVXp speakers on the road instead, they’ll have a durable, lightweight solution, as the models weigh in at 27, 42, and 50 pounds, respectively.
Peavey’s PVXp Bluetooth Powered Speaker Systems are an ideal solution for a variety of settings, including sound reinforcement, public address, karaoke, or musical playback, and represent the next generation of excellence from a trusted American company that has been providing sound reinforcement for over 50 years.
