Unbeleivible bottom end
Overall

What is your opinion of this product?

I have recently jammed with a few bands now that Covid is over. The thing they say every time is wow! your amp sounds great, nice bottom end.I have been looking for a combo bass amp that can thunder out Motown Jamerson style old school playing.Man this is it.I havn't heard anything this clear and earth shattering since I had my Peavey Mark 4 amp head, and 15 inch Black widow cab back in the 80's.This Peavey Combo amp has proved itself to me.The EQ settings allow you to sound any way you need to for any gig situation. The new 15 inch speaker is as good as the 80's black widow in my oppinion. Its lighter weight than my old set up,and has the headphone and aux input jack to boot.I can practice to numerous songs by myself at night and not disturbe anyone.I'm an oldschool player, and would buy another max 250 combo in a heart beat. This amp will not dissapoint you Thank You Peavey You keep on proving your self to me.

This amp slaps!

What is your opinion of this product?

I play 5 string bass and needed something to power my darkglass pedals. I was considering a few different routes including poweramps and FRFR but I went with this because of the price and simplicity. I had anticipated on playing through the FX loop so when I got this amp and plugged my Darkglass pedals through the FX loop and initially I wasn’t super impressed with my sound. Once I plugged into the input, however, my opinion changed. My tone is now killer. All of the features on the amp are amazing and give the bass different tones. With this and a Darkglass pedal you can get pretty much any bass tone you’ll ever need. I opted for the 15” because I play in drop Ab for one of my tunings. This amp has a crushing low end and a bright switch if you want more highs. I’m a guitar player but I’ve been hooked to bass after getting this amp. A nice bonus is that it’s extremely lightweight. I LOVE this amp. When I crank it, my house says “shiver me timbers”. This is exactly what I wanted and more for under $500. There aren’t a lot of video reviews as it’s newer, but if you’re considering this amp among other brands, I highly implore you to buy this and take it home for a day. I promise it won’t be a one-night-stand. You won’t regret it.

Subject: Max 250 - Power RMS overall
Discussion: Hi, The Peavey Max 250 features an internal 15" speaker that provides 250W RMS. In addition, you can connect an external cabinet speaker through the "SPEAKER OUTPUT JACK," which is rated at 300W RMS. Does this mean that at maximum power, the amp delivers a total of 550W RMS? Thanks, Peavey Response: The PV Max 250 has a Dynamic Power rating of 250 W. This is shared with any speaker that would be connected to it. The PV Max 250 has a rms rating of 150W

Subject: PRECISION BALANCED DIRECT INTERFACE XLR Output Details
Discussion: Hi! - I'd like to know if the PRECISION BALANCED DIRECT INTERFACE XLR output is post-effects - providing the same exact signal (only at line level) that is going to the power amp / speaker output? Also, what impedance is this output? Thanks! Peavey response: Direct Interface (DI): Pre-EQ Unity buffer Output Signal Level = Input Level – 10dB Noise Floor = 0.95mV(rms) = -78dBu I do not have the impedance for the direct output.

Subject: tweeter defeat switch
Discussion: What is the function of the switch on the back labelled 'TWEETER' 'DEFEAT' ? Peavey Response: When turned on, this automatically turns off the tweeter as the gain is increased in order to simulate a power tube's actual response.
